Luxembourg Fest of Belgium, Wisconsin was founded in 1986 to celebrate Luxembourg heritage and to honor Luxembourg families with roots in the Town of Belgium, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. The Fest is held annually on the weekend of the second Sunday in August.
The two-day fest includes the Green Heart 5K Run/Walk, an antique farm machinery parade, an outdoor Catholic Mass, ethnic food, souvenirs, music, and family exhibits and genealogy for honored families. Each year about 20 Luxembourgish family surnames from the Town of Belgium are designated as “honored families” at the Fest (see schedule of Honor Families for upcoming years).
About 2000 people attend Luxembourg Fest each year from throughout the United States and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Everyone is invited to attend and to celebrate Luxembourg heritage and Luxembourg bonds of family and friendship!
